Privacy Policy

Codiev (“we”) is the product at codiev.com. This page describes what we do with information during private beta.

What Codiev is

Codiev is a signed-in web workspace for Roblox development at this website, plus a hosted API; a desktop app ships after the private beta. Place files live in your cloud workspace or a folder you bind in the browser. Chat that uses the Codiev brain goes through our API so we can attach our system prompt, then to the model provider for that turn.

Accounts

Website sign-in and desktop sign-in are separate. We receive your email and a session we can verify, then create or update your Codiev user. We do not receive the password you use on the website. The desktop app, when it ships, will sign in with a Codiev password you set after the website account exists.

• Account email, a display name if you give one, and plan (none, BYOK, Pro, or partner).
• Sessions so the desktop and website stay signed in.
• Billing records if you subscribe.
• Usage counters for chat turns — not a copy of your game.

Provider API keys (BYOK)

Your model-provider key is stored on your machine in the operating system’s credential store (desktop) or in this browser’s session storage (web workspace). We do not write it to our database. We do not spend your provider credits on Codiev’s own jobs.

When you send a brain chat turn on BYOK, the client sends that key to our API for that request only. We attach the Codiev prompt, call your provider as you, stream the reply, and drop the key with the request. Treat that as transit through our servers — not “the key never leaves your computer.”

Codiev Metis and Watts (Pro)

If you subscribe to Pro (or partner), you can use Codiev Metis without pasting a provider key. We mint and keep a hosted provider key on our API. That secret is never sent to the website or the desktop app. Hosted turns spend Watts from your wallet. Unused Watts do not roll over. We keep usage counters (balance and spend), not a copy of your game.

Chat, code, and Studio

Messages and tool context you send to the brain reach our API, then your model provider. We do not train on that content. We do not sell it. We do not keep a product copy of your place as a default backup. Roblox Studio sync stays on your machine. It is not uploaded to Codiev.

Who else sees data

We use service providers under contract to run Codiev, including an account provider for website sign-in, cloud infrastructure for the hosted API, and a payment processor if you subscribe.

If you subscribe, checkout happens on Stripe. Stripe handles the card. We get back enough to know you paid and which plan you have. We do not store full card numbers. Stripe’s privacy policy is at stripe.com/privacy.

Cookies

This site uses cookies and similar storage so you can stay signed in. We do not run an advertising cookie program. Stripe checkout runs on Stripe’s domain during payment.

Retention and your requests

We keep account and billing records while the account exists, and as needed for tax, fraud, and abuse prevention. For access, correction, or deletion of your Codiev account data, email support@codiev.com from the address you used to create the account so we can verify it is you. History stored by your model provider is theirs, not ours.

Children

Codiev is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly create accounts for them.

Changes

If this changes, we will update this page and the date above.
